Except as §4.3 provides, all content on this site — text, catechetical material, lecture notes, handouts, syllabi, schedules, graphics, layout, design, structure, and code — is © 2026 the Parish. All rights reserved.

Original catechetical material prepared for the Program is protected under the Copyright Act of 1976, 17 U.S.C. §101 et seq., from the moment of fixation. Registration status: [Copyright registration status of core materials]. Registration is not required for protection but is required before suit and to preserve eligibility for statutory damages and attorneys’ fees under 17 U.S.C. §§411–412, and it is recommended for the core materials.

Enrolled participants, their sponsors, and their parents or guardians may download, print, and use one copy of program materials for personal formation only.

You may not, without written permission:

• reproduce material for a class, group, parish, school, or program other than this one;
• post it publicly or upload it to any file-sharing, note-sharing, or study-aid service;
• sell, license, or exchange it for value;
• create derivative or adapted versions;
• remove copyright or attribution notices;
• use it to train or ground any machine learning or generative model, or include it in any dataset assembled for that purpose;
• represent it as your own work, or as the work or official material of the Archdiocese or the wider Church.

This licence ends when your participation ends. Personal-use copies already printed may be kept.

Substantial content used in catechesis is owned by third parties. Scriptural translations, liturgical texts and their approved translations, ritual books, catechisms, and magisterial documents are under copyright held by their respective publishers and licensing bodies, not by the Parish.

The Parish’s use of that material is under licence or permission, or as permitted by law. Those rights do not pass to you. Nothing in §4.2 grants you any right in third-party material, and any reuse beyond personal study requires permission from the actual rights holder. Where a specific licence requires a credit line, that line appears with the material and must not be removed.

Any third-party rights holder who believes their work appears here without permission should proceed under the notice and takedown policy; we will act promptly.

The name, seal, coat of arms, logo, and identifying marks of the Parish, of the Archdiocese, and of the wider Church are the property of their respective owners.

Nothing on this site grants any licence to use them. In particular:

• No person may use the Parish’s name or marks in a way suggesting sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement without written authorisation from the pastor.
• No person may use the name, seal, or marks of the Archdiocese or of the wider Church in connection with this site, its content, or any derivative of it. Doing so may constitute trademark infringement, false designation of origin under 15 U.S.C. §1125(a), or a violation of ecclesiastical law.
• Use of ecclesiastical names or marks in a way that falsely implies official standing may cause serious harm to persons who rely on it, and will be pursued.

Sessions, lectures, and rites may not be photographed, filmed, or audio-recorded without advance written permission from the Parish.

Formation sessions include personal disclosures about faith, family, prior marriages, and conscience. They are treated as confidential.

Maryland is a two-party consent state: under Md. Code Ann., Cts. & Jud. Proc. §10-402, recording an oral communication requires the consent of all parties where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy. Recording a session without consent may be a criminal offence as well as a violation of these terms.

Where the Parish makes an authorised recording, participants are told in advance, may decline to appear, and may ask that a segment be removed.
